On Tuesday, March 25th, students from Champion Middle School will ride the FOX Sports Ohio Cavs Fan Express to Cleveland to meet sports & television professionals, tour Quicken Loans Arena, and take in a Cavs game.
CLEVELAND, OH – After-School All-Stars Ohio (ASAS) students from the Columbus area Champion Middle School will be coming to Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday, March 25th on the FOX Sports Ohio Cavs Fan Express to experience a behind-the-scenes career tour and enjoy the Cavs-Raptors game.
As part of ASAS National Initiative CEO program – “Career Exploration Opportunities” – FOX Sports Ohio and the Cleveland Cavaliers will provide the students an inside look at the sports, television and events industry as they learn about a variety of careers is sports, event management, television production, and facilities management.
The Champion Middle School students will ride in style from Columbus to Cleveland in the FOX Sports Ohio Cavs Fan Express. Prior to the Cavs-Raptors game at 7:00pm, the Cavs will lead the students on a facility tour of The Q. The kids will also go behind the scenes in the FOX Sports Ohio production truck and meet crew members and FOX Sports Ohio broadcasters Campy Russell and Jeff Phelps. Additionally, students will have the experience of watching the players warm up from the arena floor.
“It is important that our students know that dreaming to be a professional athlete is great, but what happens after that? Or if that does not work out?” Aslyne Rodriguez, Co-Executive Director of After-School All-Stars Ohio stated. “This shows students that you can be a part of the sports world even though it may not be as an athlete.”
